I really enjoyed the GSL Catalyst course because it was very insightful and provided me with a new outlook on leadership and the world. Additionally, my facilitator was excellent and very inspiring. The other people in my team were all very passionate young leaders and we were able to have lots of effective discussions.

  2. The Need for Change – students learn about global issues and the Global Goals, identify their passions, design vision statements, and discover how to improve their resilience
  3. Plan to Action – students learn about the independent challenge, begin project planning, and reflect on their learnings and highlights from the three days

During the independent challenge students will:

  • Plan and implement a project
  • Work towards set goals
  • Challenge themselves

How will students be taught?

The course is taught via live virtual sessions using Zoom.

Content is delivered in English by an experienced team of facilitators/coaches. We ask that all students are confident in their level of English language, and suggest a CEFR level (Common European Framework of Reference) of B2 or above (C1/ C2) to join this course.

The sessions are interactive, and students are expected to actively participate using cameras and microphones.

There are two time zone options for the three-day course. Students will be asked to select one option for all three days upon registration. The options are:

  • 08:00 – 11:45 or 15:00 – 18:45 UK time

How will students be kept safe online?

Students safety is taken seriously and we want to ensure everyone has a great experience. Everyone will be required to read and sign a Code of Conduct before the course begins. We want all young people to be able to engage in a safe and respectful space.

What equipment will students need?

  • Access to a laptop or PC with internet connection
  • A headset, or speakers and a microphone
  • A webcam
  • A notepad and pen

Will students be assessed?

Students will not be assessed but will be required to submit a summary of their independent challenge, alongside any relevant evidence including pictures, written reflections and/or a creative piece to showcase their GSL journey.

Will students receive a certificate?

Students will be awarded with e-certificates following the virtual graduation event.

Speak Our Minds

The aim of "Speak Our Minds" was to gain more insight into the mental health needs of student members of our one-year boarding school community and find ways to support them in our environment.

The Innoverse

We created solar-powered lamps out of waste plastic bottles in an effort to be sustainable.

BEElive in yourself: English Bee Project

English Bee is a non-profit project which aims to provide an opportunity for primary students to develop their English skills. The pandemic has adversely affected the quality of education for children. According to the UN, COVID-19 led to an additional 101 million children in grades 1 through 8 falling below minimum reading proficiency levels in 2020.
