2020 SEMI FINALIST | IMPACT AWARD

PolyPoly Plastic – Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, Thailand

IMPACT OF PROJECT

Our aim is to promote waste separation and upcycling manufacturing. In school, we placed collection boxes to accept plastic waste, set up an after-school club for junior students to process waste for donation to local temple for upcycled monk’s robes.

We injection-moulded a recycled Jenga set, co-hosted a workshop with PreciousPlasticBangkok in school — making upcycled plant pots with plastic extruder and learning about the significance of waste sorting. We prepared and contacted Thai Muslim Women Foundation School where we would have hosted a STEM Sustainability Day Out; this includes science experiments, waste management simulation, environmental scavenger hunt, and workshop by PreciousPlasticBangkok.
