To reduce our school’s carbon footprint, we spearheaded the Grow don’t Throw campaign to convert food waste into compost and kickstarted the Flip the Switch campaign to reduce electricity consumption in our school and student homes.

Through our efforts to raise awareness, we reduced our school’s electricity consumption by 30%, reducing CO2 emissions equivalent to what would take 5434 trees a year to absorb. While our projects were put on hold when our school closed, we are itching to get back and continue our work to ensure that the positive environmental effects of COVID-19’s imposed lockdown aren’t temporary.
