Future Foundations are running a 3-day 2-night residential programme for Presidents and Project Leaders of UK school GSL Societies.
This programme is only open to schools in the UK who have registered as a GSL member, and places per school are limited. We have outlined below key information about the programme.
Global Social Leaders (GSL) Catalyst is a unique 3-day intensive leadership course, designed to develop your leadership skills and your understanding of global issues enabling you to plan a project and become a leader in your life and society.
This weekend will help you to learn how to establish social action projects and sustain them by running a GSL Society within your school.
GSL is a transformational leadership experience developed by Future Foundations and the Wellington Leadership Institute that brings together young people who are driven to make social change on a global scale.
- 10th to 12th November 2017 (residential)
Please note, this programme is open to UK schools who are registered as a GSL Society only, click here to find out more. If you are a student, please contact us or your school to check if your school is registered.
The ultimate goals of the programme are to:
- Develop leadership skills
- Nurture confidence
- Empower the participants to go on to lead successful community projects
- Train participants in how to manage a GSL Society within their school
The programme will aim to develop each learners’ personal understanding of different leadership styles, and how to show leadership for oneself, in school, and in the community.
Participants will develop their understanding of the global challenges we face and how, through partnership and innovation, we can solve them. They will be taken through real life cases to demonstrate good project management and how to create their own impactful projects to take on after the programme ends.
After the programme, the learners will be challenged to start their own projects which will make tangible changes within their school and the community (local, national or global).
You will be invited to attend our annual GSL Conference and Awards on 21st June 2018. At this event, you will present the project(s) you have established with students from your school, and will share your learning. Click here to view annual reports and presentations from 2016/17 GSL Societies.
