One day, my colleagues was watching a video on a whatsapp and I saw these innocent children being injured and starved and had no place to go. At that moment, I was very heartbroken so I vowed to build to make this world better and save for the future generation by building schools and hospitals across the global world.

We started this project because we realized that people know feminism wrong and some of them don’t respect women rights. So, we wanted people to learn what real feminism is. We attended this competition to show people that both genders are equal. We want both genders to have equal rights. We want women to raise their voices and talk without hesitation.

GSL Little Heroes

It all started on September 22, 2020 when we were invited to an AHA meeting (Amin Hasan Award – Middle School activities Department), they introduced the GSL Competition, we immediately knew we want to be part of the change and make a difference! We thought that together we will be a great team. We made a group, we shared our thoughts, ideas and beliefs, can’t forget the enthusiasm we had then when we all decided to join in without thinking of it twice.

Hotdogs is an NPO and a youth led social organisation. We established it with a single thought in our minds and that is all our works, initiatives and efforts are mainly focused on two SDG goals set by the United Nations which are Life on Land and Zero Hunger. Hotdogs is also an ever growing group of individuals of The Scindia School, Gwalior, India who value the resources gifted to all of us by the nature and believe unanimously in practical actions.

Planting with Plastic

As a group, we've seen that there's quite a bit of plastic in Qatar. Research shows that there is 2.5 million tons of municipal waste, 1 million of that being plastic. To deteriorate, it takes a plastic bag 10 - 20 years, a plastic water bottle 450 years, styrofoam cups 50 years and aluminum cans 200 years. All this plastic, with a prolonged duration of time will affect marine life and the environment negatively.

We are just typical 12 year olds 7th graders from Karachi, Pakistan, and our project is most commonly known as, VanishingWorldHunger. Let's move back to the time when we first heard about GSL, we were so much into it that our minds were filled with thoughts related to GSL. When we first found out that we got selected to take part in Global Goals Competition, we were screaming with joy as we've always dreamed of taking part in it! It was the best day for us.

Poverty and how can we prevent it?

There are many poor people suffering from poverty in Bahria Town and we need to reduce that number of people as much as we can! As you know, there are a lot of poor people that need help, so our idea was to develop an institute that gives away healthy food to the people in need and provide them good shelter.

We started the year as the smallest bees in the hive, but just because we were the smallest bees from the hive didn't mean we had small ideas. Our minds were bursting at the seams with ideas but we were too afraid to share them, but when Mrs. Olivier gave us the creative spirit to be free, our ideas came flooding like a tsunami.
