JON
CO-FOUNDER OF GSL
Jon is the Co-Founder of Global Social Leaders, and the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Future Foundations. Jonathan is a graduate entrepreneur, he founded Kreation Limited to help university students get the most out of their time at university and quickly secured prestigious clients which included a government agency and an NGO. One of those clients was SIFE (now rebranded as Enactus) who asked him to manage the programme full time. Between 2003 and 2007, Jonathan grew the SIFE programme from 5 to 25 UK universities. SIFE provides university students with the opportunity to participate in real world community projects which develop their enterprise mindset and capabilities. They develop projects, under the guidance of university staff and local business advisers which create economic opportunity for others. Jonathan has also been responsible for designing and delivering accredited training for a National Charity on how to set up and run a social enterprise, has trained university students in how to set up a social enterprise, mentored students through the process of securing funding for their ideas and judged the University of Birmingham social enterprise business plan competition. He completed a part time MSC in Charity Marketing and Fundraising, with Distinction at Cass Business School. KATY
CO-FOUNDER OF GSL
Katy is co-founder of Global Social Leaders and holds a Doctorate from the University of Oxford, where she researches leadership, flourishing, and education and is a post-doctoral teaching fellow. Katy is also a Deputy Headteacher.
AMY
HEAD OF GSL
Amy is a proactive person motivated by the desire to empower people to be able to develop the capacity and control over the direction of their lives. This lead to her studying for a Masters in Social Anthropology and the impact of different influences on how we construct meaning in our lives. Amy works to build the capacity of young people and communities here in the UK and overseas.
JESS
PROGRAMMES DIRECTOR
Jess joined Future Foundations in September 2021. Jess brings a wide range of experience of working in the charity and education sectors in the UK and East Africa including setting up new schools, managing schools and running capacity building programmes for school staff and government education officials. Jess is passionate about the potential of young people to make the world a better place, and about the impact that learning to be a leader within their own lives and within wider society can have on helping young people grow and succeed in life. This is something she experienced first-hand when she was given the opportunity to participate in setting up a youth council in her town as a teenager which led to many opportunities including being elected as a trustee of the British Youth Council and appointed as an Executive Board member of the National Youth Agency when she was 18. Outside FF Jess is currently a trustee of the EA Foundation and a governor of Wimbledon Park Primary Federation. Jess is excited to be leading Future Foundation’s programmes which support the development of young people in a range of different ways, enabling them to reach their potential.
MICHELLE
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Michelle started her Future Foundations journey back in 2008 when she was at the University of Reading where she was leading the Enactus team. Working with FF on “Third Sector Edge”, Michelle mentored a team of sixth form students from Reading Girls School to successfully complete a project with social impact. In fact, one of those sixth formers is now a Coach on Future Foundations programmes! Michelle has a great belief in education in its many forms, having been the Principal of an EFL School, a teacher, a coach and a mentor. She was rather excited to join Future Foundations in 2016 and become part of our amazing programmes aiming to create the leaders of the future.
HOLLY
PROJECT COORDINATOR
Holly joined the Future Foundations team in September 2022 as the project coordinator for the Global Social Leaders programme. She graduated from the University of York in 2020 with a BA in Writing, Directing and Performing before going on to further her study on an MA course. She completed an MA in Drama and Creative Writing in Education at Leeds Beckett University. Her passion lies in facilitation with a key focus on creative learning and accessibility. In her spare time, Holly can be found either reading of at the local charity and vintage shops.
INDY
PROGRAMME MANAGER
Indy is a Programme Manager for Global Social Leaders at Future Foundations. Her role focuses on designing courses and content which is tailored to the young people that we support throughout the year. Indy studied Politics & International Relations at Warwick University and is currently undertaking an MA in Gender at Bristol University. She has a background in Social Innovation and Community Development via her role as Schools Programme Manager and has spent the last 6 years working in the youth sector and leading youth programmes across the UK. Indy is passionate about co-designing spaces and opportunities for young people which are led by them, in order to ensure that their voices are at the heart of everything.
