Our Team is a mix of 12 and 13 yr old students in Yr 8 and 9 at Southland Girls High School in New Zealand. We aimed to teach Year Eight students the New Zealand National Anthem in New Zealand Sign language and provide an online learning resource hub for teachers and students to learn additional sign language. New Zealand Sign language is one of our three official languages in New Zealand, alongside English and Maori. Starting with training from a teacher, we then became the mentors and upskilled our level to mentor and coach class representatives who then taught their homerooms. In addition, we made small tutorials to put in a Google Classroom for students to access in-home learning during covid.
