MedRangers addresses the humanitarian concern of medical malpractice caused by lack of health education and medical assistance in Mulshi-Taluka. We aim to combat this by using a preventive and diagnostic approach, thereby improving health outcomes. Our preventative approach primarily comprises educational workshops (on the science, causes, symptoms and treatments of prevalent diseases), basic first-aid training, government health schemes, and facilitating further medical training for ASHA. For our diagnostic approach, we will organise health camps in Mulshi-Taluka (since the hospital is 5-9km away from the villages) to improve medical assistance and measure outcomes. Using the design-thinking process, our human-centred project is designed to suit our stakeholders’ needs, reduce incidence of medical malpractice, raise health education levels, and bolster the capacity of ASHAs – an integral part of the rural healthcare system- so that they can better serve stakeholders. The end goal is to make a ‘health-seeking’ model independent of us.
