We are delighted to share a blog written by student Martha Wigglesworth from Hua Hin International School, who is part of a team delivering a Global Goals project for the 2019-20 Global Goals Competition.
Their project is among over 957 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community.
Spreading the awareness, even to a few hundred parents and students, and seeing their kindness towards helping the animals warms our hearts.
Project Overview
On the 26th of February 2020 we created a donation box for WFFT, we set up a table by the school gate and have raised loads already. Also in June, we will be continuing to raise money for WFFT. All of the money goes to help these helpless animals who deserve a second and for some of them, a third chance. Since the 2nd of March, unless necessary Parents have been asked to not enter our school due to the coronavirus. This has slowed our donations but children are helping us immensely and we greatly appreciate it.
Our Journey
Many people are very supportive of the projects and have generously contributed. Also to raise money on the 16th of March we will be hosting a bake sale. This will be vegan to support our animal rights theme. We will be cooking over the weekend to prepare the food and we are all super excited. This money will also go towards helping out with a project we hope to volunteer for if the virus doesn’t get worse.
The Next Chapter
We hope to raise even more money on the 16th to help these animals have the best possible life and also help future animals that go to the center. Please follow our Instagram account and help us spread the word of how many animals are suffering. These animals deserve a voice and we are their only way. If we don’t speak for them then these animals and the future animals will continue to suffer in silence. We are part of nature and so are animals so we must unite to make a difference.
