Stanley Park High

Summary

This society wanted to raise awareness of a local ‘charitable trust’ – The Diamond Riding Centre which caters for adults and students who are disabled. It gives them the opportunity to ride horses and gain the pleasure and harmony that is present in this social endeavour. The Society is also raising money towards sponsoring one of the horses at the riding centre: Fudge. (The centre is in need of funds as it is in danger of closing – sponsoring horses enables them to gain funds and continue to train horses and provide the service to local people who have a range of disabilities.

With the support of the NCS Trust the team has been able to run 3 fundraising activities so far and are climbing towards their goal of raising £1000.  The fundraising activities, including a bake sale, have also enabled the team to let students know about the centre and raise interest and awareness in how the centre supports people in the community.
