Music spreading Tolerance

We are delighted to share a blog written by student Anas, from Al-Shatee prep. School- B, delivering a Global Goals project for the 2020-21 GSL Global Goals Competition.

Their project is among over 957 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community.

I’m still searching for my future.

Project Summary

I was born in a very misery situation in Gaza, according to clashes between Palestinian parties. So I, with other friends, believed that we can spread tolerance through music, and I wanted to show the world that we could make love by music with participating other ceremonies to say the words of peace.

My Journey

I’m still 14 years old, soon I will be 15. So I need more time to achieve things, but I do trust myself. I participate in Shaghaf initiative meetings, and I play in Edward Said institution with my guitar. The challenge is people in my city think that music is forbidden, so I need to raise awareness to music and how it is not prohibited, to spread love.

The Next Chapter

Sure, they should be a part of these projects, because we need each other to learn from everyone of us, since we have different cultures, customs and traditions.

The 2020-21 GSL Global Goals Competition is now open and runs until June 2021. If you belong to one of the 500+ teams of students currently delivering a social action project as part of the competition we would love to hear from you and feature your blog and project photos on our website to inspire others.
