We are delighted to introduce the independent judging panel for the GSL Global Goals Competition 2022-23. Each member of this years panel has been specially selected on the basis of their global experiences and/or a knowledge of sustainable development. They represent a wide range of specialisms and bring a wealth of personal and professional experience to the panel.
Nadeen is a strategy manager, researcher, educator, and writer with a strong background in psychology and international development. She holds a BA in Psychology from NYU Abu Dhabi and a Postgraduate Certificate in International Development from SOAS. She currently works as the Programs Strategy Manager at Dubai Cares, focusing on transforming education for people and planet through cross-sectoral collaboration at all levels. Her passion lies in advocating for the importance of education and equitable social services across the lifespan, particularly in the context of social justice and community empowerment. With a commitment to compassionate leadership and collaboration, Nadeen strives to foster inclusive environments for positive development for all.
Kavita Rajagopalan is a Director at Global Schools Forum, a collaborative community of 84 non-state organisations working to improve education at scale for underserved children in low and middle income countries. She brings over a decade of experience in education in India working with both government and low-cost private schools. Her most recent work was with KPMG in India, providing advisory services in education. She has experience designing and implementing large-scale training programs for teachers and school leaders and supporting state governments with their education intervention through her work as Chief Academic Officer at India School Leadership Institute and her early work with Teach For India. Kavita also has experience incubating and investing in early-stage education enterprises working in education and skill development.
Michelle is a law partner at EY and leads the global sustainability team for Law. She specialises in energy transition, sustainability and decarbonised solutions and ESG, advising globally. Her clients are those seeking decarbonised and sustainable solutions as well as those providing and financing them and include financial institutions, clean energy and energy transition developers and suppliers, corporates and Governments.
Michelle is focused on helping the sector deliver and sits on many industry bodies including the Policy Committee of the Renewable Energy Association, Chair of the Climate Change Committee Advisory Group, Chair of the REA Finance Steering Group, Climate Bond Initiative Advisory Board, Advisory Boards of Dii.
She is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an attorney in New York. Michelle is a Fulbright Scholar and a John Rankin Scholar and has a first class LLB from UCL and an LLM from UC Berkeley.

Under his leadership, Family Assistance Program has expanded to include opening the only youth shelters in San Bernardino County, opening multiple transitional housing programs, two youth drop in centers, a prison re-entry program, and an anti-human trafficking program. Each of these programs are run by survivor/leaders who represent the clients they serve. All programs are heavily focused on providing a trauma-informed empowerment approach to helping their clients achieve their own goals.

Darryl serves on the board of directors for the California Coalition for Youth and is the current Commandant of the Victor Valley Detachment of the Marine Corps League.

The one common theme which holds these all of them together is the desire to improve other people’s lives for the better.
