How you can help
Global Social Leaders (GSL) is the name of Wellington and Future Foundations’ transformational leadership programmes that give young people the inspiration, skills and support to design and carry out high impact social action projects and build social enterprises.
We are delighted to invite members of the Wellington Family to become a GSL Hero – you can mentor students (online); write feedback on project ideas (online); speak at one of our programmes (at Wellington College); or help us to raise funds to support bursaries or to run our ‘Catalyst’ programme in other parts of the world.
So far GSL has been delivered in the UK, India, China and the UAE. In 2019, programmes are also taking place in Romania and Turkey.
We have had young people from 20+ countries attend our 2-week annual summit at Wellington College.
There are over 500 schools from 80 countries currently engaged in our Global Goals Inter-school Competition for 2018-19. The winners of this, will be announced at our annual GSL Festival on 20th June 2019, which is part of Wellington’s EdFest.
Any funds raised for bursaries, will be managed as a ‘restricted fund’ for the purposes of enabling young people to take part in GSL, who otherwise would not be able to do so. In previous years we have supported students from the Wellington Academy to attend on a 100% bursary, and last year we supported a student and teacher from the African Leadership Academy.
To express interest in becoming a GSL Hero click here to complete our very short webform.
Once we receive your registration, we will arrange a phone call or meeting at Wellington to discuss your involvement and will also share with you further information on the opportunities to be involved.
