fertile.ly is a project aimed to tackle the problem of food waste. We noticed that in today’s societies, people are neglecting their responsibility in food production and consumption. As a result, we decided to reuse food waste by making it into fertilisers.
We realised that composting takes quite a long time so we would not be able to reuse much food waste within the time limit. In the end, we decided on fruit peel liquid fertilisers, coffee ground fertilisers and egg shell fertilisers. We have been in contact with the local shops and restaurants for food waste in which they all agree to give us for free. Although it was not yet possible to donate the fertilisers due to COVID-19 outbreak, we have already contacted the Chul Farm, Bangkok Prep Forest School and Bangkok Prep Eco Team. So they will receive our fertilisers by the time we go back to school.
