The Eco Brick Builders are a group of enthusiastic high school students from Santiago, Chile. As a group, we were saddened and distressed by the world’s use of single-use plastic and felt compelled to act. As a result, we needed to consider how we could get rid of plastic and prevent it from biomagnifying into our habitats using a simple and straightforward solution: eco-bricks! Surpassing our expectations, we collected about 200 eco-bricks! We plan to build an eco-brick garden and refurbish a greenhouse in collaboration with La Semilla. This will take place in Centro La Tetera, a place dedicated to supporting women who struggle with substance abuse. This project saves marine life and harnesses terrestrial life by managing waste and building a garden to encourage a holistic environmental approach towards therapy and life.
