Project Overview

Collect For Future – “The Global Goals”

It is our duty to protect our world and leave it to the next. For this reason, we have developed a project on “Global Sustainable Goals” that all states are working on this year. At the same time with our project; We decided to take part in the Global Social Leader Competition from many countries around the world where the projects of our peers were evaluated. Before giving details of our project, I would like to inform you about the Global Goals and the organization we participated in. Our aim is making the world a better place for us and for future.

Our Journey

GLOBAL GOALS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 goals for a better world by 2030. These goals have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. Guided by the goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.

As TED Bursa College students ;we decided to participate this competition this year. Our project will address two of the global objectives

The Next Chapter

Gender Equality

Gender bias is undermining our social fabric and devalues all of us. It is not just a human rights issue; it is a tremendous waste of the world’s human potential. By denying women equal rights, we deny half the population a chance to live life at its fullest. Political, economic and social equality for women will benefit all the world’s citizens. Together we can eradicate prejudice and work for equal rights and respect for all.
Unfortunately, our country is 130 th among 149 countries according to the Global Gender Inequality Report 2018. 131 th of the participation and equal opportunities in the field of business life Turkey, 106. the field of education, in health 67. According to the report, it takes 108 years for women to have equal rights with men.Our first goal is the equal participation of girls. For this reason, we wanted to make a study with the ÇEK ( Çağdaş Eğitim Kooperatifi )- Kır Çiçekleri in our city. Kır Çiçekleri program support girls who live in mountain villages but do not have the chance to education due to financial difficulties. We also want to support the Kır Çiçekleri this our project

Climate Action

Climate change is a real and undeniable threat to our entire civilization. The effects are already visible and will be catastrophic unless we act now. Through education, innovation and adherence to our climate commitments, we can make the necessary changes to protect the planet. These changes also provide huge opportunities to modernize our infrastructure which will create new jobs and promote greater prosperity across the globe.

We will collect blue plastic cover for this project. Agreement with a recycling waste firm within the scope of social responsibility project; we will donate the price of plastic caps for Kır Çiçekleri. We will also prevent the damage caused by plastic to the environment. every 1 ton plastic cover cost is appx 300 € and every 5 tons equal is 1 Girl education cost.

The 2019-20 GSL Global Goals Competition is now open and runs until June 2020. If you belong to one of the 700+ teams of students currently delivering a social action project as part of the competition we would love to hear from you and feature your blog and project photos on our website to inspire others.
