Introduction

GSL Bright Futures at Queen’s College and Wellington College is an intensive multi-week English and employability skill development programme for young people from all over the world, designed to develop confidence in English speaking, an understanding of global citizenship and the Four Cs of 21st century learning.

  • Critical thinking
  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Creativity

Each week has a practical, knowledge-based curriculum (drawing on the arts, geography, science, and social studies) delivered through varied excursions and enrichment activities which will put into practice their English speaking skills.

“If today’s students want to compete in this global society they must be proficient communicators, creators, critical thinkers, and collaborators (the “Four Cs”). Students need to master additional subject areas, including foreign languages, the arts, geography, science, and social studies

Educators must complement all of those subjects with the “Four Cs” to prepare young people for citizenship and the global workforce”

This is an intensive multi-week programme, designed to develop confidence in English speaking, and will expose students to British curriculum. We recommend attending for between two and four weeks (selected from our six week programme).

The programme can also be used to prepare students for  participation in our other courses and is recommended to be booked alongside, for all students where English is not their first language.

For those participating in multiple weeks, they will have the opportunity to study a range of subjects and to experience a number of offsite excursions.

On the first day, we will carry out an assessment to allocate students to the suitable level for their current ability. Our courses are designed for students with a level of English IELTS 3. 5 +.

Students will:

  • Improve English language and speaking

  • Develop their understanding of global citizenship

  • Experience a project based curriculum learning and excursions

  • make new friends with students from around the world

  • Explore British culture and learn British sports

  • Visit a seaside town and historical places of interest

  • Live in an exclusive and traditional boarding school

  • Be recognised for their achievements with a certificate
