The City School GCA Boys

The nation’s duty is to provide unity

We are delighted to share a blog written by student Huzaifa, from The City School GCA Boys, who is part of a team delivering a Global Goals project for the 2021-22 GSL Global Goals Competition.

Their project is among over 957 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community!

We are the change and together we make a difference! We think! We act! We win!

Project Summary

Things which could have been wishes of others further down south of my metaphorical position in life. I’m sure that many of you like me who are reading this, if you were told to imagine a world without smart phones and the internet, we would think we were in an episode of the cartoon “flintstones”. But you would also be shocked to discover that a world such as that exists even now.

I believe that at least moderate quality education be given to every student in the world as it is the only way for progress and development to be obtained in this day and age. Every child has the right of learning about the environment around them and beyond.

The Journey

In order to turn these dreams into a reality, we have partnered up with several different schools to broaden our view on how blessed we are and to help other students to become far more than what they are today. We have partnered recently with Lions club and International Babri club to help the students at Nature and Nurture academy. We were given a tour at Darul Sakoon to obtain inspiration on what we should try and give every student for their betterment. It also showed us how lucky and blessed we all are as well as left an impression on us all to always be grateful for the things we have now as the smallest things in our hands could be the dream someone was wishing for. The biggest challenge is to find ways to continue this project and to collaborate with organizations which can be linked with our project.

The Next Chapter

This experience has been an eye opener on the luxurious and stress free life I am living. We should all do our part in helping the ones who are down get back on their feet and appreciate all that comes into our lives. Most people who already have the blessings don’t realize them until they are gone which connects to a saying, “For a man to appreciate the light, he must first know the darkness.” It’s the little things in life which make you feel happy and proud of yourself that you have done something good in the world and to help someone else feel the same joy is a feeling which cannot be put into words. “Spread right instead of wrong, as it leads towards the light.”
