The Scindia School

Project Exponent

We are delighted to share a blog written by student Ayushman, from The Scindia School, who is part of a team delivering a Global Goals project for the 2021-22 GSL Global Goals Competition.

Their project is among over 957 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community!

This experience has been enlightening

Project Summary

Indian community is gifted with youth power, but suffers from problems like poverty, hunger and illiteracy at the same time. Living in such a diverse society, the desire of people to help and desire to the see the country progress, is commendable, but the barrier which is the distance and the time, has been avoiding help to reach the needy.

We have carefully observed how a mechanism of helping people would actually be helpful to curb this problem and benefit the ones in distress. Hence, we initiated our project exponent, that works toward fulfilling a resolution that suggests easy and effective steps, to impact the society. Our Goal is to work towards the development of local communities and putting them out of a struggling position.

The resolutions that stand for reaching out to people, donating essentials, spreading awareness, correcting the wrongdoers, encouraging people to get involved and become the voices of the ones in distress, is our pathway towards the establishment of a healthy and prosperous society.

The Journey

Over 4 months we have not only learnt about how we can impact our society in a positive manner, but also how making such an impact, at even a small scale, can benefit our companions to be in a very better condition, that would let them to help themselves in a manner, that was not possible earlier due to the hurdles of helplessness.

Our Exponent Team, learned how communicating and letting people know the cruciality of the situation is an important part of initiating the welfare of the community, and how such action would spark a chain, of people getting connected to our purpose of helping people. We also acquired the skill to help people on ground and convey our goal to them, gaining their support.

Although being in such a vast and diverse nation, we see the lack of mobility and accessibility as a challenge to our goal, which we plan to tackle through increasing our networks, and interacting with other many groups that work for the same noble purpose. We look forward to create exponential growth in the progress of our initiative, and create many such chains that work to bring a change.

The Next Chapter

In the coming course of time, we have planned to implement several food drives and also awareness campaigns with student batches, to spread our idea, and get an impact being made out of it. We are also planning further to implement a contact chain to help people that want to seek support emotionally. Some plans to our goal include an awareness drive on vaccination and sanitary importance.

We recommend people of our age to pledge for exponent resolution and become an active asset to the society. We must realise that we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give and hence, our support to our companions should never fall short.

We should understand that our actions, have the capability and caliber to make a significant difference, which won’t happen otherwise
