What is Free Periods?
Free Periods is on a mission to ensure that NO YOUNG PERSON has to miss out on their education because they have their period.
Since our inception in April 2017, we have fought determinedly for change, ultimately launching a joint legal campaign with the Red Box Project in early 2019, urging the Government to comply with its legal obligations to ensure equal access to education for all children, irrespective of their sex.
Just two months after the launch of legal action, the Government committed funding for free period products in schools in England, mirroring similar commitments already made in by the governments in Scotland and Wales. The Department for Education’s scheme launched in January 2020.
We’re thrilled to have played our part in this policy change, but our work is not yet done!
In fact, the Period Revolution has only just begun.

The Challenge
At the last count only 20% of eligible schools and colleges in England have signed up for the scheme. We need 100% participation.

Can you create a campaign that sets off and sustains a chain whereby you get 3 of your friends to get their schools /colleges to sign up and then each of your friends gets 3 of their friends at other schools/colleges to sign up and so on….
We need all schools and colleges in England to sign up and with your help we can!
