Project Description:
Substance Abuse by Pathways School is an initiative tackling substance abuse through prevention, awareness and recovery support. Their seven-action campaign has impacted more than 200 people through school workshops, awareness campaigns, specialist collaborations, rehabilitation centre visits and peer counselling activities. The team also created the Recoverly App, now used by a local NGO, which tracks sobriety milestones, provides emotional support and includes an integrated breathalyser. Complementing this, they developed a Python-based tool that demonstrates the financial and physical costs of alcohol consumption, highlighting potential savings and health outcomes over time. Through exceptional research, collaboration and social action skills, the students partnered with more than 10 NGOs and helped refer 116 individuals to rehabilitation services, creating meaningful and lasting community impact.
