Project Description:

KeraX from Jayshree Periwal International School is an initiative developing sustainable carry bags and packaging from keratin extracted from human hair and poultry feathers. After extensive experimentation, the team created a biodegradable, water-resistant bag 10.4 times stronger than conventional plastic. With support from IIT Guwahati and Rajasthan Patrika, they refined the product and expanded outreach. Now supplying major schools, KeraX is bridging science and sustainability to replace plastic and plans to further innovate by targeting the plastic bottle industry next.
