Project Description:
The aim of our project was to build our community through working with those within our community. We set out to provide a children’s home with foodstuffs and reusable sanitary pads as well as teaching the girls about proper menstrual hygiene. We partnered with the Rusinga School Community Service Club as well as larger organizations such as the Wezesha Binti Foundation and the Minister of Health and Sanitation of Busia County. Through our project we were able to raise awareness about period poverty as well as provide foodstuffs for the children’s home during this time of drought in our community.
