Ndirande

Project Description:

Our aim is to promote the recycling of plastics such as HDPE that can be turned into desks for use in primary schools.
This is done through raising awareness of the ways we can recycle (for example, posters and recycled art) and the channels we can use to
make more of an impact with our reused plastics.

The initiative aimed to educate the school about recycling and the impact of Mudi River pollution. It sparked discussions and motivated some students to take an interest in helping.

Our accomplishments to date have exceeded our original goal of gathering fifty kilograms of plastic debris. We have successfully collected an impressive 223 kg of plastic thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Ndirande community, which makes a substantial contribution to environmental sustainability. Now, a revolutionary purpose will guide the repurposing of this significant amount of plastic. This gathered plastic will be cl recycled into 11 robust desks, each of which will serve as a symbol of our commitment to environmental preservation and community improvement.
