First GSL Catalysts In China

Wellington College International,Shanghai,
15th – 17th December 2016

Wellington College International, Tianjin, 19th-21st December 2016

Global Social Leaders Catalyst is a unique intensive leadership course designed to develop your leadership skills, your understanding of global issues enabling you to plan a project and become a leader in your life and society.

In December 2016 the Global Social Leaders (GSL) Catalyst programme took place in China. We were fortunate enough two schools who form part of the Wellington Family, Wellington Shanghai and Wellington Tianjin.

We took 16 students from Wellington College, Eagle House and Wellington Academy to join 15 students from Wellington College International Shanghai for a 3-day GSL programme. The students came together to work through  series of workshops focusing on self leadership, global and local issues, social action case studies and project planning.

The teachers, students and FF staff were able to experience a 2-day excursion around Shanghai also. This included a calligraphy lesson, tai chi, making our own dumplings for lunch, interacting with Chinese students and taking in the incredible sights and sounds of The Bund and the rest of Shanghai.

Two of our FF staff team, Liv Hildebrand and Laina Pattni then traveled to Wellington College International Tianjin to work with a group of 11 students from the school for the 3-day GSL Catalyst programme.

These two programmes then saw the groups of students from each school launch a GSL Society and start to plan and deliver a social action project in their community.

We then welcomed all to Wellington College on the 25th March 2017 to celebrate what they have achieved at the FF Annual Awards and GSL Conference.
