World Of Silence

We are delighted to share a blog written by Falak Suteri, a student at Pathways School Noida who is part of a team delivering a Global Goals project for the 2018-19 Global Goals Competition.

Their project is among over 800 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community.

The pleasure of helping people cannot be described in a sentence.

Project Overview

In the very beginning of our journey, we had identified that all of us wanted to target the differently-abled people. Since that was a very broad topic we chose the hearing impaired community. We felt honoured to work for people in that community but what made this experience even more special for us was meeting the children of the community.

All of the children are creative, talented and full of spirit which persuaded us to work for them. Till now we have completed some of the presentations used to teach the children in the community and we will be planning a trip soon to share our presentations.

Our Journey

GSL Goals Competition has motivated us enough to reach to the next level. We have developed so many skills by simply working with the deaf community but we were encouraged heavily by GSL.

The biggest challenge we have had to face was communication because honoured on within the deaf society, although we overcame that by making a group where all of us (the deaf society, students and our mentor) can interact to settle down on a mutual decision.

The Next Chapter

Of course, we would recommend people to be a part of this project and any other similar projects. Because in our project, we didn’t do it because our school offered to but because we wanted to do this project for the benefit of the society and development of our skills and experience.

The 2018-19 GSL Global Goals Competition is now open and runs until June 2019. If you belong to one of the 700+ teams of students currently delivering a social action project as part of the competition we would love to hear from you and feature your blog and project photos on our website to inspire others.
