Select And Intellect

We are delighted to share a blog written by student Zacc, from The International School for Better Beginnings, who is part of a team delivering a Global Goals project for the 2021-22 GSL Global Goals Competition.

Their project is among over 957 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community!

It was hard at first but we will strive until the end.

Project Summary

We want people to know more about Voters Education.

The Filipino citizens need responsible and accountable leaders to serve the country, so Voter Education is a must to educate people to use their intellect to select and elect deserving leaders. We want voters to know that voting wisely makes a huge impact because we are talking about the leaders who would lead our country. The Leaders who would win has the power to control the younger generations’ future, they either destroy it or make it bright.

This campaign was envisioned to educate the people of Lucena City from different barangays to register, intellectually select and elect the deserving leaders not only in the local government, but in the national level as well. We hope that this project will be the instrument to make our country more developed in terms of choosing the right leaders. We, students want to let our voice be heard so we also hope that our project will spread information about educating Filipino citizens.

The Journey

Since August, we have constantly been working on Select And Intellect, getting members, speaking to students and coordinating with our teachers.

It was hard for us at first because of the pandemic. We cant see each other in person and we always lost connection but we strived until the end. Our campaign is about:

• Encouraging voters to spread awareness and vote wisely
• Make an informed decision during the elections.
• To have a better future for our country

We held webinars so many people can hear what we have to say so they can be encouraged to vote wiser.

We were very lucky to share this milestone with our friends from grade 8. Our teachers were also especially encouraging and we can’t thank them enough for all their support.

The Next Chapter

Well first of all we will try to recruit more members so we can grow our campaign.

Second we will try to post posters that say “Vote Wisely” so many people can be encouraged to vote wiser. And lastly we will try to sell our pins so we can make some income for other projects such as posters, online ads, etc..
