Record Level of Participation in the GSL Global Goals Competition

We are excited to share that of the 422 schools from over 80 countries that have registered for the GSL Global Goals Competition a record 580 teams consisting of over 4,000 young people have submitted a project plan for feedback before our 1st December phase 1 deadline passed.

The projects entered address 14 of the United Nation’s Global Goals, with the most popular globally being Goals 3, 4, and 12. This suggests that issues around Health and Wellbeing, Education and Responsible Consumption and Production are particularly important to young people in 2018-19.

Global Social Leaders are working round the clock to provide every team with free, bespoke feedback on their project plan over the coming weeks, to enable them to achieve success and maximise the impact of their social action.

This is a truly global movement of socially conscious young leaders, with all world regions represented in the competition and many of you planning to attend the GSL World Summit in August 2019, or host your own GSL Catalyst programme in the coming years. Participants of the Global Goals Competition join the 927 young people who have taken part in our ‘live’ training programmes; GSL World Summit, Catalyst student conferences, GSL Festivals and one day LaunchPad events. We look forward to the positive impact of GSL spreading throughout the world next year!

Don’t worry if your team has missed the deadline, all young people that are working on GSL Goals projects or interested in joining the competition are welcome to submit their project to us for feedback in Phase 2 of the competition, anytime before 1st March 2019. The final deadline for your project reports to be submitted for judging is 1st May 2019.
