About the experience

GSL Global Catalyst is a unique 7-day intensive female leadership and cultural experience.  The residential programme hosted by Wellington College is designed to develop leadership skills and understanding of global issues enabling participants to be leaders in personal life and society.

The programme consists of over 40 hours of workshops, group coaching sessions, leadership activities and two excursions to Windsor Castle and London.

During this immersive experience participants will discover the difference between good and great leadership and learn what it takes to make that transition. Students will be taken through a series of activities to explore their passions and values. They will also develop their understanding of the current global challenges faced by society through group discussions.

Participants will be taken through real life cases to demonstrate great project examples. They will learn how, through partnership and innovation, to find solutions to solve issues in their local community. Students will design their own social action project and leave Wellington College with a plan ready to implement upon their return after the programme ends.

Students will also have a chance to take part in a cultural exchange by delivering a presentation about their country, demonstrate their unique skills during a talent show and encourage others to take action by delivering a powerful speech during GSL Inspire.

You will:

  • develop your leadership skills

  • make deep connections with young people from around the world

  • discover your passion and values

  • gain confidence to voice your opinions and to take action

  • design a project to tackle an important global issue

  • visit Windsor and London

This experience has been a once in a lifetime opportunity. The values and leadership skills I have learnt has been very inspiring. Also the people I have met means I have a global network of friends which is amazing.

You will feel ‘at home’ and you will enjoy every moment of the adventure. I would also say ‘get ready to step out of your comfort zone’, yet it will be a lot more enjoyable than you think it will be. And be yourself, because it will be easier for other participants to see your beautiful personality.

I’ve improved my leadership skills, imagination, boosted energy and changed the way I think positively. GSL had a positive outlook on me and I hope it would the same to you too. Have yourself change to do your best for the world, society, local community and also yourself!

Testimonials

You should join GSL as it is a great opportunity to meet new people from across the world. It helps you work on your leadership skills and teaches you new skills everyday. It is an opportunity to make life long friends and to help you decide what you want to do in the future. GSL can help you work on things like public speaking and its fun as well!

You should join GSL because it is more than just community service. GSL is creating and forming connections and uniting youth of today. It is easy to isolate ourselves into our own world, but what I learned through meeting kids from all over the world is that although we do have differences, our struggles and our dreams are the same.

GSL gave me the opportunity to see the world through different eyes through the stories that my friends told and the experiences that they went through.

From the team bonding that you do to the discussions that you have, you learn what it really means to be a leader, but also how to be a follower, a partner and most importantly, a friend.
