Green Warriors of GIIS EC Campus Singapore

Singapore a very small island nation, located one degree north of the equator, a place of efficient infrastructure, many sky scrapers and blessed with tropical weather. Singapore does not have any large farms, plantations or orchards, Thanks to the government which is trying its very best to develop, maintain and grow its green cover. GIIS EC Campus is a tropical haven, spread over 8.8 acres with more than 200 trees.

Our Belief Is That The Education Shouldn’t Be Bound Down By Poverty

Whereas we wanted to blend and contribute our time, talents, efforts, creativity as the youngsters to let the world know that our voice and efforts can move mountains and be the change we wanted to make.

Little Paws For Stray Paws

We as a group have observed that many animals have been thrown out of their homes and left on the street. We hoped to help these stray animals find a house and get sufficient food to live.

We realised that malaria and cholera are the prevailing diseases in Mallam. Having experienced malaria at least once in our lives, we decided that if we can, we must do something to prevent others from getting malaria.

Eco Car Wash

After noticing a severe increase in neglected domestic pets like dogs and cats, we have decided to aid major animal shelters such as the ISPCA and ‘Noah’s Ark’ through initiating a fund by offering car wash services within our campus.

Bee Green!

In our Global Citizenship Programme (GCP) class we are passionate about the environment. We felt that a pressing issue in our community is the excessive use of plastic. We came up with “Bee Green”

TBS Saturday school

We cooperated with local charity to have a Saturday special school. Children of the charity were invited and we had lesson with them in English.

Green Warriors@GIIS ECC

My school is developing a Herbal Garden, where we grow vegetables, fruits and medicinal herbs. Other than this, my school has also introduced a new program, titled 'Plant a plant on your birthday', where students are encouraged to plant a plant on their birthday.
