Ridley DIGs This Opportunity

Our goal to raise $5,000.00 for a classroom at The Center of Hope in Guatemala in order to tackle the issue of access to education for all has recently been kicked off with the Grade 3 Bake Sale and the Candy Gram sales. Both events combined has started us off with $915.00, which is higher than we originally anticipated! Through both events, we have now identified to the Ridley community that we are in need of funds to help provide a new classroom for children in Guatemala that wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to go to school.

Apno Gaon 2018

Our project, Apno Gaon 2018 (translation for 'Our Village'), was a celebration of United Nations Day. We identified a community of 11 village schools surrounding our own and aimed to create a greater awareness for the Sustainable Development Gaols in their localities. We are trying to tackle the issues of ignorance towards basic hygiene, conflict-resolution and the lack of opportunities for locals to implement the SDGs.

For a cleaner and clearer future

Our country’s water bodies have been suffering from steady degradation and pollution problem has now exploded! With increasing amounts of trash that continue to drastically contribute to water pollution, the president of the Philippines closed Boracay in 2018 for a period of 6 months for rehabilitation and now the government is focusing on rehabilitating Manila Bay. With our project, ProH2O, we wanted to do our bit to help reduce water pollution in our local community. ProH2O is a project that focuses on certain bodies of water in our local community that are contaminated with trash and aims to host cleanups with the aid of donations and volunteers.

Making a difference – women empowerment!

The three leaders are proudly part of a non-registered initiative called Accessible and Affordable Sanitation for Women (AASW), a global non registered initiative that aims to give girls access to menstrual hygiene and break the social stigma and taboo the issue faces. This will be done by producing handmade reusable sanitary pads for girls who have no access to them and spreading awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene. The initiative has been integrated into a community service club we run weekly at Isamilo International School Mwanza.

The roots to the lungs

Our city, Xian has high pollution on a daily basis, and our school has the average of 120 PM2.5. We feel that having high pollution doesn't make our school a safe learning environment, as it can have a detrimental effect for us further on in life. Recently, there has been a trend in media called the "10 -year challenge" this is where people compare photos of themselves 10 years ago vs now. Some people have put a new perspective on this challenge, by turning it a comparison of the earth 10 years ago vs now.

It All Starts with the Bathroom

Our team's goal is to help influence a more positive mindset for the people around us by painting the bathrooms. This idea was influenced by the Mapo Bridge. This bridge is a place when many Korean people have committed suicide by jumping over. Suicide is the leading cause of deaths between ages 10-39 in South Korea. To prevent more suicides from happening, there was a project where people put up signs like "Have you eaten?" or "How are you feeling?"

The Giggles Project

The Giggles Project aims to change the world one smile at a time. This means that with everything we do, there should be such an impact that we change our society for the better. We plan to do this by creating an environment where everyone particularly children can have access to quality health care.

Go! Car 2019

Our project is a solar powered car that can be used in local and small areas of developing countries, within populations where inhabitants cannot always afford modern cars and the associated costs of petrol and car maintenance. Our project the Go!car will generate all the power needed to run, from environmental factors and physical effort from human passenger’s.Our mission is to make and sell as many Seed Balls as possible to have green and healthy environment around us.

Arranging school events as a complete rookie

We've noticed that there aren't much methods we can use to clean our hands in the school bathroom. So we decided that we will install some purell dispensers in each bathroom at school. We've arranged a talent show at the school theatre to raise money to buy the purells. Our mission is to make and sell as many Seed Balls as possible to have green and healthy environment around us.

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW..SEEDS FOR HAPPINESS

We, a group of seven children studying in Sixth grade at Rustomjee Cambridge International School ( RCIS) with the thought leadership and blessings of our very enthusiastic teacher Aanchal Miss and Principal Tanya Ma’am are set out to achieve United Nation’s Goal: Life on Land. Our mission is to make and sell as many Seed Balls as possible to have green and healthy environment around us.

Partnership in Discovery

In India the quality of education is relatively poor for the underprivileged community. Despite having a lot of potential, they are unable to get equal opportunities. To us the quality education means which develop sustainable livelihood and empower children to become economically productive and enhance their well-being.

World Of Silence

In the very beginning of our journey, we had identified that all of us wanted to target the differently-abled people. Since that was a very broad topic we chose the hearing impaired community. We felt honoured to work for people in that community but what made this experience even more special for us was meeting the children of the community.
