Accident brings tears, safety brings cheers.

We are delighted to share a blog written by Iqra Mohammad Nawaz, a student at Kuwait National English School who is part of a team delivering a Global Goals project for the 2018-19 Global Goals Competition.

Their project is among over 620 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community.

My experience has truly been amazing.

Project Overview

Our project focuses on health and safety well being.
Community safety is a concept that is concerned with achieving a positive state of well-being among people within social and physical environments.

Within years of existence, I haven’t encountered such happening, but what brought me to this particular cause is that nowadays safety is becoming such a concern. Whether it’s about the use of the mobile phone while on the road, or not following the rules and regulations and etc. and we as a team will put our act together to implement safeness and a positive well-being within our community and all around the world. Our team has already gathered ideas and have already made a prototype and will do further research.

Our Journey

During this project we came across many obstacles which included miscommunication and lack of team work however we were able to accomplish all the problems by conducting regular meetings over phone and in person which allowed us to discover each other on a different level in terms of friendship and as individuals.

We were able acknowledge what each of us could do the best and make use of our qualities. This project has taught us how to work professionally as well as how to listen to each other’s opinions and find a common way to complete tasks. Our biggest challenge has to be the acceptance of our product in the market where we already have so much competition,Although we are trying to overcome it by creating the design of our product as unique and attractive for it to standout among the other products in the market. Hopefully we will be able to accomplish this milestone like we have done previously.

The Next Chapter

I would highly suggest youths and students to take part in this competition. You won’t just help sort out one of the worlds problem but will also gain something in return. You will get to socialize and work together as one for a cause.

All of us must be aware of the problems that the world has been facing nowadays, and we’ve got to believe that even though we are still students, we aren’t just students, we are the youths that can do little things but can make a huge difference to the world by putting all our act together.

The 2018-19 GSL Global Goals Competition is now open and runs until June 2019. If you belong to one of the 700+ teams of students currently delivering a social action project as part of the competition we would love to hear from you and feature your blog and project photos on our website to inspire others.
