A step towards a life

We are delighted to share a blog written by student, Raghav Bhardwaj, from Pathways School who is part of a team delivering a Global Goals project for the 2019-20 Global Goals Competition.

Their project is among over 957 social action projects currently running as part of the GSL movement and we are excited to be supporting them to design and lead positive social change in their community.

Touching and Saving the real life by doing the small step.

Project Overview

Injured, hungry and infected dogs, which overcrowd the streets of our city are in dire need of our help. Seeing such friendly creatures out on the roads, weak & infected, struggling for food and water is extremely disheartening. The suffering of these animals made me take an initiative to help are furry pals. We have gotten our idea from various sources about this issue. We have seen animals die, so this is the reason why we chose this. All of this experience has taught us to be more mindful of the plants and animals that live around us. We should not take their lives away for our comfort. They deserve to have a nice life and live while they still have time.

In hope to save our furry pals:
-Spread awareness to our family and friends on animal products, how to take care of animals and our responsibility towards stray’s
-Interviews , discussions and field trips to know what more we can do to –contribute and help the stray dogs/animals
-Contribution for the NGO called FRIENDISCIOS – Newspaper drive to help Friendiscios’s poor dogs and cats in the winters
-We have planned to raise funds to help vaccinate dogs and donate to an animal NGO
-Made our own website that talks about are journey and about animal cruelty

We hope that our actions can inspire youngsters to change the world and others to do the same along the way.

Our Journey

With the help of the GSL, we have become effective communicators and problem solvers. Our project will allow us to think out of the box and find solutions to key issues in our community.
At the moment, Our biggest challenge is the volume of stray’s is so high that we can not take care of all of them. When we share our project in the wider group, we understand the group of people who are keen and ready to help. I found the sustainable action and can help the future of the animals around us. Even post our exhibition we can continue raising the funds and food around the society.

As humans we always should be a helping hand to others who are in need. Not only to human beings but also to animals and to the entire environment.
Let’s contribute to make a better tomorrow.I would encourage everyone to join and contribute to the animals around you. Together we can make this world more beautiful and also to make it a better place for us all to live in peace and harmony. A simple act would make a big change in the lives of thousands of fellow beings. So, let’s line up. Let’s make a change. Let’s make the world a better place.

The Next Chapter

Let’s contribute to making a better tomorrow. We definitely would recommend it! It was a wonderful experience and helping the animals by providing food, shelter and treatment for their diseases made us feel like adults responsible for their environment. I would like to help them and connect them with the people who are continuously engaged to help them more and more.

The 2019-20 GSL Global Goals Competition is now open and runs until June 2020.
